Branch Executive Committee Nomination Form
In accordance with the constitution of The Scout
Association of Australia ACT Branch Incorporated (Scouts ACT), the Branch
Executive Committee (BEC) has the power and responsibility to manage the
business of Scouts ACT. Members are elected to the BEC
for a one year term at the Annual General Council Meeting (AGCM) each year by
the Branch Council. The term commences at the conclusion of the AGCM at which a
member is elected.
BEC Roles
The BEC consists of:
- President
- Branch Treasurer
- Up to two (2) uniformed members who have
attained the age of eighteen (18) years of age
- Up to two (2) adult Supporters
- One Leader or adult Supporter nominated
by the Branch Region
- One Rover nominated by the Branch Rover
Council.
Expertise and experience

- IT / cyber security /
information management
- marketing and
communications
- fundraising
- government relations,
- property.
What is required of a BEC
member?
The commitment for a BEC member
typically involves attending 12 meetings per year, either at the Scouts ACT
Office or via teleconference, with the possibility of additional special
meetings and an annual planning day. As a BEC member, you will be expected to:
- Review and consider all
BEC papers prior to each meeting.
- Attend and actively
contribute to monthly meetings and other meetings as required.
- Undertake various
tasks, including project work, as requested.
- Potentially chair or
serve on sub-committees.

ACNC Eligibility Statement
Branch Executive Committee (BEC) members are
Responsible Persons within the meaning given by the Australian Charities and
Not-For-Profits Commission (ACNC). I declare that:
- I am not disqualified from managing a
corporation, within the meaning of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth); and
- I am not disqualified from being a public
officer or committee member of an incorporated association, within the
meaning of the Associations Incorporations Act 1991 (ACT); and
- I have not been disqualified by the ACNC
Commissioner at any time during the previous year from being a Responsible
Person of a registered charity.
If my nomination is successful and I become a
Responsible Person for The Scout Association of Australia ACT Branch Inc, I
agree to notify the Executive Officer of Scouts ACT immediately and to resign
from the Branch Executive Committee effective immediately if:
- I become disqualified from managing a
corporation within the meaning of the Corporations ACT 2001 (Cth); or
- I become disqualified from being a public
officer or committee member of an incorporated association within the
meaning of the Associations Incorporations Act 1991 (ACT); or
- I am disqualified by the Australian
Charities and Not-For-Profits Commissioner.
By making this declaration I agree that the
requirement to resign from the Branch Executive Committee effective immediately
is necessary for the protection of Scouts ACT's charitable status.
Approvals
A number of approval stages need to be completed before this submission can be accepted.
Executive Officer
Appropriate approvers from the Executive Officer group will be automatically allocated for this approval stage.
Branch Office Processing
Appropriate approvers from the Branch Office Processing group will be automatically allocated for this approval stage.
